A lot of people have been asking me what they can do to become or remain healthy while we are still in a state of social distancing. This has been hard with all we are missing...no restaurants, no gyms, no sports, no theaters, no parties, no school. The list is endless.

I think most of us can relate to experiencing a sense of restlessness during this time. But we still have power over a few things.

We have power over how we take care of ourselves.

The wellness tip that tops my list is SLEEP. I once heard Jennifer Lopez say that she requires 8 to 10 hours of sleep every night, without exceptions (JLo and I truly are soul sisters). Think about it. With the money and resources available to her, she's come to the basic conclusion that she needs to sleep almost ⅓ of her day. Not any fancy vacation or luxury item. She needs sleep to feel well.

There is some good data out there to support why sleep is so important. A regular sleep schedule ranging from 8 to 10 hours a night can fight off Type II Diabetes, Heart Disease, Obesity, Fibromyalgia, Chronic Pain, Stroke, Depression, Mania, and Inflammatory Bowel Disease. Also, 8 to 10 hours of sleep will improve your memory, improve athletic performance, improve your chances of weight loss by 89%, and help you live longer. So there it is! Prioritize your sleep schedule and stay well!

Hello!

I hope everyone is doing well! I speak with many of you often, but for some, it has been a while. I wanted to reach out and let you know I have been thinking about so many of you lately and praying for health and safety for you and your loved ones. We are always here for you. Forgewell Solutions is conducting telehealth sessions and some in-person sessions. When our therapists feel comfortable, they will be returning to the office with a plan in place that avoids client to client contact. Everyone's safety is our primary concern.

Are you curious about telehealth? I will be honest, I wasn't sure about how it would work at first. But, it isn't that bad. Telehealth does have some perks including no traffic, taking place in the comfort of your home, and bunny slippers are now an acceptable dress code option during a session. It is important to find the positive in all situations.

Currently, Forgewell Solutions has 12 therapists and 1 prescriber in the office. We have therapists that see children, adolescents, teens, adults, couples, and families. Our therapists see clients Monday through Saturday. Believe it or not, all of these clients can be treated through telehealth. We are getting the hang of virtual services! We take all major private insurances as well as Tufts Direct.

So you might be thinking, "How does telehealth even work?" It's easy to get started. All you have to do is go to ForgewellSolutions.com and find the therapist you want to see. You can request an appointment through their contact button and your request goes directly to that therapist. The therapist will contact you within 24 hours and she will send you a link for your session. You can "meet" with your therapist on a phone, computer, or laptop.

By the way, you should check out our super fancy new website site at ForgewellSolutions.com as well as our BLOG at ForgewellSolutions.com/news. Also, feel free to like or follow our social media accounts at @forgewellsolutionscounseling on Facebook and @forgewellsolutions on Instagram. By keeping in touch, you can meet our therapists and learn about what is happening in the office.

If you already follow us on social media, then you already know about our extra special intern Demi (the dog). She is working hard to be part of the Forgewell Team and hopefully, she will continue her studies to be a certified therapy dog.

Please let us know if we can assist you in any way.

In health,

Karen

Please join me, June 25th at 7:30 pm online to learn about a new program that I am excited to finally launch!

Supervision Circles is a community created exclusively for counselors to enhance their clinical and business practices with the right education and support. As a member of Supervision Circles, you will have access to important information, best practices, and resources to provide you with what you need to level up your business!

When I started my journey as a social worker I spent a lot of time and money on books and training which did not fit my needs. I was frustrated with having to use my limited resources and time on material and courses that were not effective. I felt like I did not have anyone to mentor me or the resources to gain the knowledge I needed to improve my skills. That is why I have created Supervision Circles.

Some of the benefits you will experience as a Supervision Circles Member include:

  • Monthly in-person meetings for clinical support and business guidance

  • Networking with incredible clinicians to grow your skills and practice

  • Access to our talented support network of experts offering tips and tricks to streamline your business and gain clients

  • Book review meetings

  • Inside information about conferences and continuing education

  • Resources for best practices and compliance

  • And of course, what we all need... support, both individually and in a monthly group session.

If you have already joined Supervision Circles, please register to learn more about what your membership includes. If you are a clinician looking to improve your practice or build a business, Supervision Circles is a community ready to support you and help you succeed.

Visit our website: www.SupervisionCircles.com

Please join us for a FREE Information Session ONLINE. Thursday, June 25th at 7:30 pm.

Please RSVP to info@supervisioncircles.com. We will email you a link for this Zoom event.
